Resident Evil Village Wins Steam’s 2021 Game of the Year

Another win for Resident Evil Village!

2021 was a very good year for Capcom, especially with the release of Resident Evil Village. While it failed to win Game of the Year at the 2021 Game Awards, it did take it and other categories home at last year’s Golden Joystick Awards as well as Sony’s PlayStation 4 Game of the Year.

It now has yet another trophy Capcom can put on it’s self: Steam’s 2021 Game of the Year on PC.

Steam officially announced the winner’s on Monday morning via Twitter showing that Resident Evil Village had beaten out Cyberpunk 2077, Valheim, New World, and Forza Horizon 5 for the title.

Maybe it was its immersive gameplay, or its gripping story… its well-crafted characters, immaculate design, or addictive multiplayer. Whatever the reason, the winner of this year’s Game of the Year Award is an instant classic.

Steam’s awards are voted on by users of the PC platform, so it’s easy to say that Resident Evil Village left quite an impression on the gaming community (likely with a little help from Lady D and her Best Performance winning voice actress, Maggie Robertson).

Resident Evil Village is still selling well and we’re eagerly waiting for Capcom’s next release into the almost 26 year old franchise.
