It appears like Resident Evil Village‘s streak of breaking records is showing no signs of letting down.
Capcom’s latest survival horror entry was released in May for current and last-gen consoles as well as PC, and has received widespread accolades from fans and critics alike for vastly expanding on the revamped model established with the 2017 iteration.
It’s probably unexpected, therefore, that this year’s continuation of Ethan Winters‘ story has been flying off the shelves at such a breakneck pace that it may easily beat its predecessor’s already impressive sales figures.
Resident Evil Village was not only the top-performing title across every platform (Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam) in its launch month, but it is also the second best-selling video game of 2021 so far, according to the latest report supplied by NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella.
However, 2022 is a long way away, so anything may happen this early in the year.
