Resident Evil Village is the continuation of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in both terms of following up on the story and its mechanics.
It maintains the first-person point of view of that its predecessor and the general style of gameplay.
However, between Village and 7, there will be several variations.
This involves the scale of the games, as Peter Fabiano, one of the producers for Village, reported that Resident Evil Village is “much larger” than Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
In his recent interview with Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Fabiano confirmed this to be the case. However, he did not give much information beyond that. He did state, though, that on PS5 load times would be virtually eliminated.
It’s uncertain whether this means that the Resident Evil Village game universe is bigger, or whether it means that the game itself would be longer.
Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was shorter than the other more recent mainline Resident Evil titles that lead up to it, so it will be interesting to see how long it takes to complete Resident Evil Village on first and future playthroughs.
