Capcom has updated its list of Platinum Titles (those with more than one million sales). Several titles, including those from the Resident Evil and Monster Hunter franchises, have also reached new milestones. Resident Evil 7 has surpassed the 9.5 million sales mark in the last three months, while Resident Evil Village makes its debut on the list.

Two Resident Evil titles have surpassed new sales milestones. Resident Evil 7 sold additional 800,000 copies, bringing the game’s lifetime total to 9.8 million units sold, breaking through the 9.5 million barrier. Resident Evil 2 sold 500,000 more copies, pushing the total to 8.6 million, surpassing the 8.5 million mark.

Resident Evil 3 did well as well, albeit it did not achieve another milestone; it sold a further 400,000 copies, bringing the total sales to 4.4 million. Resident Evil Village also makes its appearance on the list, having sold 4.5 million units, significantly above the 1 million mark. Making Resident Evil Village an instant success. Resident Evil Revelations Collection, a Nintendo Switch exclusive, also makes its debut, having sold 1 million copies since its release.

Monster Hunter World has already sold 17.3 million units, with an additional 200,000 sold in the last three months. Its expansion, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, adds another 500,000 copies to its tally, bringing it to 8.2 million copies sold and breaking the 8 million mark. Monster Hunter Rise, a Nintendo Switch exclusive, sold an additional 2.5 million units, bringing its total sales to 7.3 million.

Street Fighter V and Devil May Cry 5 are two other Capcom titles that have performed well. The former sold another 300,000 copies, bringing the total to 5.8 million. Meanwhile, the latter has surpassed the 4.5 million sales record by selling an additional 200,000 copies in the last three months.

Capcom’s digital sales performed exceptionally well in the most recent fiscal quarter, with a 104 percent rise in net sales between March and June 2021 compared to the same period last year. According to the above data, the publisher sold 13.3 million units of all of their titles combined, owing primarily to the debut of Resident Evil Village and strong sales of the company’s back catalog.
