Not everyone is excited about Resident Evil‘s next attempt at multiplayer, Resident Evil RE: Verse. However, many enjoyed the closed beta that ran a few months ago, and a few people found it pleasantly surprising.
Capcom had recently announced that there would be another beta, this time available to anyone with an internet connection. This open beta was to take place this very month, starting on the 7th. However, it seems that that’s no longer realistic.
Citing problems concerning the Resident Evil RE: Verse beta matchmaking services, Capcom has pushed back the open beta “until further notice”.
The shape of these issues is unclear. Many multiplayer games struggle in their offset, however, as networking isn’t exactly an easy undertaking. It’s possible that Capcom simply couldn’t get it working at a satisfactory level before primetime.
Sadly, anyone looking to try out this multiplayer experience will have to wait until the beta actually takes place. Until then, keep an eye out for any information we might be able to provide.
