Previously, Constantin Film’s website had stated that the Resident Evil reboot film would release on September 9th, but it seems that the timeline has been moved up a week.
In a recent report from Deadline, the movie will release during Labor Day weekend on September 3rd. The only other major film set to release at that time is Jackass.
The movie starring Kaya Scodelario, Hannah John-Kamen, Robbie Amell, Tom Hopper, Avan Jogia, Neal McDonough, among others wrapped filming in December and is now in post-production.
The movie will be an origin story that takes place in Raccoon City in 1998 and is directed and written by Johannes Roberts.

Sony will be distributing the Resident Evil reboot movie in the U.S., Elevation in Canada, Constantin being a German company, will distribute in German-speaking countries, and Metropolitan in France with Sony also handling distribution in the rest of the world.
