This week has been quite the week for Resident Evil fans. Earlier this week alleged cover art and screenshots circulated online for the highly fan requested remake of Resident Evil 3. Of course, Capcom has been mute on the subject, but that hasn’t let the community stop speculating.
The most popular theory was that Resident Evil 3 remake would be announced at The Gaming Awards next week. Which was believable considering the Resident Evil 2 is up for Game of the Year and several other awards.
The Game Awards founder and host Geoff Keighley has taken to the internet to state that, so far, no announcements from next week’s awards have leaked online.
Keighley did state that there will be “new games/projects being revealed if you want to count the things that no one has heard about yet”. According to Keighley, none of those announcements will be Resident Evil 3.
So what does this mean?
Fortunately, there’s still is a chance that an event will take place early next week that we could still get a first look at R3MAKE. Namely, a Sony State of Play.
Industry insider ZhugeEX hinted that the game would be made public by Capcom before the event upon its initial leak. and this comment from Keighley leads us to believe that the rumours are true.
