According to reports, EA has tasked developer Motive with making a full remake 2008’s Dead Space.
Following recent rumors of a Dead Space rebirth, a new report (via GamesBeat) claims that EA is actually working on a “full-fledged remake” of the much-loved science fiction/horror franchise.
EA Motive, the team behind Star Wars: Squadrons and Star Wars Battlefront II, is rumored to be working on the remake.
Motive is reportedly “taking notes” from Capcom’s recent Resident Evil remakes, according to the source. It will be compared to the 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake, but it will also employ the original Dead Space as a “strong foundation.”
Gamatsu also stated that they had “separately heard” similar information regarding a Dead Space comeback, implying that something is happening behind the scenes.
Many people believe EA will reveal the project at the next EA Play event, which will take place on July 22.
